Fried Green Tomatoes, Anyone?

Fried green tomatoes were pretty common when I was growing up. Another sign inspiration for my shop -

Golden brown and crispy on the outside, tangy on the inside - yum!

I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying designing signs inspired by childhood memories! I'm remembering things that I haven't thought of in years - every sign has a story!

By the way, thanks for all the information about my grandma's dishes. I think we've come to the conclusion that they came in laundry detergent boxes - can you even imagine?!

Out of curiosity, are fried green tomatoes just a southern thing?

I love fried green tomatoes! I grew up on them, too (in Virginia). Love your sign!

love the sign. AND love fried green tomatoes. Its so funny, Mr.P. will not let me fry one until he gets the first ripe tomato off his vine. We have them with our meal at lunch or supperhere in Ga, but in Mississippi at our favorite casino, they serve them on the breakfast buffet and they are delicious with bacon and eggs. Who knew? Have a great day

I don't know, I've never lived anywhere BUT the south, but I do LOVE them! Newly following, come see me!

They are eaten in Indiana. My in-laws are always asking us pass along a green tomato or two.

I think fried green tomatoes are mostly a southern thing. You never see them on a menu here in California. I love tomatoes, but I've never tasted them. My dad is from the south, so I'm not sure why my mom didn't make them while we were growing up. They sound delicious.
Blessings,
Marcia
P.S. Your sign looks great :-)
